The wrestling world is still buzzing after Mercedes Moné made a shocking appearance at Prater Catchen in Vienna, Austria, where she captured the EWA Prater Womens Title (as reported by WrestleJoy). The move sent a clear message about her mission for a “global revolution.”
Now, Mike Ritter who had the unique experience of driving Moné to the ring that night has shared a public statement on the experience. His words provide a unique, behind-the-scenes perspective on the character and passion of the reigning AEW TBS Champion.

Below is his full, unedited statement:
I just got back from Vienna, Austria. Was that crazy or what? Mercedes Moné, literally the biggest female pro wrestling megastar in the world, just made a surprise appearance at Prater Catchen and won the EWA Prater Womens Title.
Now, I hear: Why would Mercedes do something like that? And, of course, the most obvious answer is: Because she can! After all, she is the CEO.
But I also have a different answer to this question. She does it because she really loves pro wrestling. She doesn’t “have to” travel 14 hours to wrestle for a “small company”. She wants to. And she wants to compete with the best.
Lexa Valo and Mila Smidt are two of the best we have here in Europe and I am very sure it was a great honor for them to be in the ring with Mercedes Moné.
As for myself: I have been doing this for 28 years. And when you thought nothing could shock or impress you anymore – here comes Mercedes Moné.
It was a great honor to drive her to the ring and to spent time with her at my personal “Happy Place”, the Prater in Vienna. I was able to share the #PraterLove with one of the biggest stars we ever had in our business.
But – more importantly – with one of the nicest persons I have ever met in all my time in wrestling. Can’t wait for the next rollercoaster ride!
Whether it’s the emotional one in the AEW ring or – literally – on a roller coaster somewhere in this crazy world of wrestling.
Thank you Mercedes for making this a memorable weekend not just for me and everybody involved, but mostly for the great fans at Prater Catchen!!!
His words offer a unique and personal glimpse into a night that many European wrestling fans, and one very important driver, will never forget.
