Just hours after reports surfaced that Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) had personally intervened to keep Brody King off this week’s AEW Dynamite, the media giant has officially entered the chat to clear the air.
The Official Denial
In a statement addressing the swirling controversy, a spokesperson for Warner Bros. Discovery clarified that they did not play a role in the creative decisions or the talent lineup for last night’s broadcast. Contrary to the reports of corporate interference, WBD maintains that they had “nothing to do with” Brody King’s absence from the show.

The statement emphasizes that AEW remains in control of its own programming and that any decisions regarding which stars appear on screen rest solely with Tony Khan and AEW management.
This official stance stands in direct opposition to the report from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio earlier today. That report suggested WBD leadership was terrified of a repeat of the viral “Anti-ICE” chants that took over the arena in Las Vegas, fearing it could jeopardize their high-stakes $82.7 billion merger with Netflix.
AEW has also commented to me that the reports are “Totally false”.
With the corporate statements out of the way, the focus returns to the ring. Brody King is still set to challenge MJF this Sunday at AEW Grand Slam Australia.
